About

Wholeness. Wellbeing. Soul at rest.

These are such beautiful words.

For a period of my life, I was morbidly obese, depressed and filled with anxiety. My relationships suffered and I felt disconnected from my body, God and from my friends and family. My journey to personal wellness began in 2005 and included losing 180 pounds. I also worked to become a personal trainer (ACE), a biomechanics trainer (ITS) , a group fitness instructor (AFAA) a registered yoga teacher (RYT) and an aquatic exercise specialist (AEA and ATRIC). My work has been featured on USA Today.

I found healing through my faith in Christ, and through developing a healthy relationship to movement, and in particular yoga. I found my mat to be a space where I could meet and experience God’s unconditional love for me. Because of the emotional and spiritual pain I suffered prior to these transformations, I am able to provide a unique environment for my personal training and yoga clients, who describe me as approachable, non-threatening and supportive. Everybody can experience benefits from yoga: not just the thin, flexible and young. Yoga, breath work and mindfulness are tools that seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with bigger bodies can enjoy. These tools can also be a way for couples and families to learn to be together and connect.

In my personal experience, God redeems suffering. No matter the suffering, using the tools of movement, breath and scripture, one can find soul rest.
